“Long term success comes from repeatable failure!” – #Golfer Jim Carroll
It should say REPEATED failure but I will stick with what I posted LOL!!!!!!! I had my best round of golf *ever* yesterday, shooting an 83 at my home club, Credit Valley Golf & Country Club. Had I not missed 3 close putts on the back, I might have made 80. This photo was taken as I was coming up the 18th hole; I knew I was on track for a great finish, as I had just absolutely nailed my hybrid from 130 yards to 10 feet from the pin. I two-putted for bogey. (I should have made the par!) My round included an epic 6 pars. To put this into perspective, I only really began to play this game with intent about 10 years ago. I was the guy who would go out and whack the ball, and hit 110 or 115 or 120, and have no clue what I was doing. But I had determination on my side, and I wanted to figure things out. My job as a speaker takes me to some of the best golf resorts in the US in Orlando, Las Vegas, Palm Springs and Phoenix, During the early years as a speaker, I’d be sitting inside looking out at the golf course thinking, “I should be out there.” Plus, my youngest son was on his way to becoming a 1-handicap, and I figured if I wanted to hang out with him, I shouldn’t look stupid. I’ve got an incredible 212 rounds in my GameGolf GPS tracking device from January 2016, so I guess I’ve been working at it for a bit.
What’s that phrase from Malcolm Gladwell? That you need 10,000 hours to master any type of skill, to become really good at it? Gotta go – I have a tee time this morning!
