“Failure is your secret weapon! Don’t be scared of making a mistake – be terrified of not making enough of them!” – Futurist Jim Carroll

I will be going live, online, tomorrow night at 8pm EST, for an early morning event based out of Adelaide, Australia –  and will spend a part of my day today and tomorrow getting my ‘show’ ready.

I keep pushing my boundaries.

For example, my son Willie (who excels in creative insight – see https://wcfotography.com and https://locationintelligence.ca) has prepared for me a wonderful series of new image backdrops for my broadcast. Iff I can get them to work properly, it will kick my show up a notch in terms of quality and professionalism to a huge degree. On the other hand, there is a chance that my own actions will screw it up – the key thing is that they will work best if I stay in place, but I’m used to wandering around on a stage. This new reality is somewhat confining. That might lead me into a mistake. I’ll learn. Practice is for the timid.

The timing of the show might be a challenge. Since the event schedule is for an hour, I’ll have to work a lot more material into my show for content, and I’ll be pushing my infrastructure a bit more. I could go 90 minutes on a stage with thousands. Down in my basement, it’s a different story. It might not go well.

I’ll be doing interactive Q&A with those attending, and I haven’t done a lot of that online yet, so there is room for problems there!

The list of potential problem areas is long.

But such as it is, I’ll hit the “Go Live” button at 745PM tomorrow and will run with it!

Some things will go wrong, and I’ll learn lots more about what I can do to do better with the next event! But more will go right, few people will notice the problems unless I have a disaster, and it will be a success!

All of us can choose to stand still and do nothing – or we can choose to keep moving and try to do everything. Because, why not! Many of us have lots of time!

Think big, start small, scale fast – that’s been my mantra. And I’m revising it every single day – think big, move fast, fail a bit, and keep going!
